Over 43 Years in Insurance. A New Chapter.
I started my career in insurance in 1983, and over the past 43 years I have been fortunate to experience the industry from many different perspectives.
I began in personal lines before moving into management, insurer-facing roles and ultimately commercial insurance broking. During that time, I have worked with businesses of all shapes and sizes, built and managed teams, developed specialist insurance schemes and, most importantly, built relationships with clients that in many cases have lasted for years.
Those relationships have shaped the way I believe insurance broking should work.
For me, good commercial insurance has never simply been about finding a policy and arranging cover. It starts with understanding the business behind the insurance — what the client does, where the risks are, what matters to them and what they need from their broker.
That was a major motivation behind relaunching ATK Corporate Insurance Solutions.
After more than four decades in the industry, I wanted to take the experience, insurer relationships and commercial knowledge I have built throughout my career and combine them with something that I believe is increasingly important: genuinely a personal service.
I want clients to be able to pick up the telephone and speak to someone who knows them and understands their business. I want to build relationships where we are not simply discussing insurance once a year at renewal, but where clients feel comfortable contacting us whenever their business changes or they need advice.
ATK may be a new chapter, but many of the relationships behind the business are not. I am extremely proud that clients I have worked with for many years during my insurance career have chosen to continue those relationships with me through ATK.
That trust means a great deal to me.
My ambition for ATK is therefore quite simple: to build a modern commercial insurance brokerage around traditional values — knowledge, accessibility, personal service and long-term relationships.
After 43 years in insurance, I remain as enthusiastic about looking after clients and developing business as I was when I first entered the industry.

Before recommending any insurance solution, we take the time to understand what a business actually does, the risks it faces, and what protection is most appropriate.
We then work to arrange insurance that reflects the real needs of the business, rather than simply offering a standard off-the-shelf policy.
